🗓️Trek Itinerary

Start early from Dehradun and enjoy a scenic drive to Chopta through lush green forests, terraced fields, and picturesque villages.

Distance: 230 km
Time: 8 to 9 hours
Accommodation: Campsite or guesthouse in Chopta
Activities: Rest, acclimatization, local exploration

Begin the trek early morning from Chopta. The trail is moderate and passes through thick forests of  rhododendron and oak, with the fresh mountain air invigorating every step. After a gradual ascent of around 3-4 hours, you reach Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple. Spend time exploring the temple and soaking in the panoramic views of the Himalayas,
including the majestic Chaukhamba peak. You can then choose to trek further up to
Chandrashila Peak (approx. 1 km from Tungnath) for stunning views of the sunrise and
surrounding peaks.
Return to Chopta by evening for overnight stay.
